Paul Bradley Holliday, 47, of Poplarville, was indicted by a Pearl River County Grand Jury and was indicted on three counts of embezzlement according to a release from the office of the Attorney General Jim Hood.

According to that release, Holliday turned himself in to Pearl River County authorities Oct. 7, following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Public Integrity Division. Holliday is accused of embezzling $268,965, from 2006-2009, while he was working at a Holliday Construction LLC owned by his uncle, Lawrence Holliday, in Poplarville.

Bradley was also indicted on three separate counts of embezzlement.

Holliday’s father, Hudson Holliday said during a phone interview Monday, “It’s a continuation of a family feud and the charges are not true.”

If Bradley is convicted of counts one and two, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine on each count and up to five years behind bars and a $5,000 fine on count three, the press release states. He was released on a $25,000 bond and is awaiting trial the press release states. The case was investigated by Ronnie Odom and will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Larry Baker of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Insurance Integrity Unit the press release states.

Representatives from the Pearl River County sheriff’s department declined to comment and the Attorney General’s office declined to elaborate on the charges.

Hudson went on to say that his brother has now involved the state. “He brought the charges over a disagreement and Bradley worked for Lawrence for years and made him a lot of money and they made promises to him and reneged on them,” Holliday said. “When it all comes out, Bradley will be exonerated and it’s a sad situation to attack the family that way. The outpouring of support for Bradley has been overwhelming. I thank people for their support, calling, and on social media, that know the whole story.”

Lawrence Holliday had no comment.
