Tuesday, a man wanted for residential burglary was arrested. For nearly two weeks, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department has been trying to track down 38-year-old Mark Anthony Mills of 302 Edgewood Dr. Through their investigation, the department located Mills at around 1 p.m. Tuesday inside an acquaintance’s house in the Hide-A-Way Lake community, Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.

Mills was wanted for residential burglary and conspiracy to commit residential burglary after allegedly burglarizing a home on Oak Drive in the Caesar Community of Picayune on Thursday, May 7, the Item previously reported.

According to previous Item coverage, the department received a call at 7:30 a.m. the day of the burglary that the homeowner’s granddaughter allegedly arrived at the house and found the suspect inside. At the time of the burglary the homeowner was in the hospital.

The granddaughter told authorities, she, along with a friend, stepped out of her vehicle and allegedly confronted Mills while he was inside the residence. After being confronted, Mills fled the scene in a 2008 silver Ford F-150 driven by an unidentified suspect, according to previous Item coverage.

While it was unknown at the time of the report whether any items were stolen, investigators found several items misplaced around the residence, the Item previously reported.

The second suspect remains unidentified, Tucker said.

Mills was charged with residential burglary and conspiracy to commit residential burglary.
