A suspect was charged with a drive by shooting Saturday by the Picayune Police Department.
On April 4, 2015 at 10:24 a.m. police received reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Sally Drive said Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Magri. Officers were dispatched to the victim’s house where they observed what appeared to be bullet holes in the victim’s front windshield.
The victim told officers that as he was approaching a house on Sally Drive he heard several gunshots, Magri said. He then turned and saw a male subject hanging outside the driver’s side window of a vehicle shooting a firearm. Officers were able to recover several shell casings in the roadway on Sally Drive.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 21-year-old Tyrone Davis of 212 N. Green Ave. Officers were able to locate Davis on the 600 block of 4th street, and while speaking with him recovered a Taurus 9 millimeter pistol Magri said.
Davis was then transported to the Criminal Justice Center where officers performed a gun shot residue test that will be sent to the Mississippi crime lab for analysis Magri said.
Further investigation into the incident led to Davis being charged with a drive by shooting, Magri said.
