Ulmer Nicholson

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Ulmer Nicholson, 95, of Picayune, formerly of Richton, who died April 27, 2014, at Forrest General Hospital.

Bro. Shot Stinson and Bro. Terrell Suggs will officiate at the service with burial to follow in the Mulberry Cemetery.

He was a member of the Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the U. S. Forestry service after 24 years of service.

He was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and Masons and also served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a farmer, and loved to ride and see the countryside.

Mr. Nicholson was preceded in death by his first wife, Ala Dean Nicholson; his parents, Thomas Eligah and Nancy Marie Nicholson; three brothers, four sisters, three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie Ann Nicholson; sons, Jerry (Minnie) Nicholson, Larry (Pam) Nicholson; daughter, Sherron (Troy Lee) Breland; step-son, Fredrick Dye; step-daughter, Joanne Stevenson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jones & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
