Memorial Services will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Evelyn Lee Cross, 92, of Little Rock, Ark., who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in Little Rock.

Burial will be in the Union Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Alan Cross will officiate at the service.

Evelyn, a native of Leetown, was manager of the Pines Apartments in Picayune from 1980-1996.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, James “Bud” Lee and Montorie Smith Lee; her husband of 57 years, James Carl Cross; brothers, Osel and Edro Lee; and sisters Edna Lee McCord, Claudine Lee Thigpen, and Mae Lee Muller.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Cross Zweifel of Little Rock and Terrell Cross of Picayune; and her sister, Eloise Lee Burrell of Picayune. She is also survived by: five grandchildren, Eric (Rebecca) Zweifel, Kristen (Jeff) Brizzolara, Jarrod Zweifel, Alan (Erika) Cross, and Karen (Eric) Whaley, and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Perhaps the most important thing that can be said about her is that she loved God and loved people wholeheartedly. Always content in her walk with Jesus, Evelyn was greatly loved by her family and all who knew her.
