Memorial Services for John H. “Dewitt” Daniel, 74, of Poplarville, Miss., who passed away September 18, 2012 in Hattiesburg, Miss., will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 7 p.m. in McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Services are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Carl Heberg will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, Miss., he was a Mechanic and a member of Goodyear Baptist Church. Dewitt enjoyed collecting model cars and airplanes. He also loved watching Nascar and collecting anything with Dale Earnhardt his favorite driver on it. He loved reading Western novels and watching old Westerns on TV.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Roy D. Daniel and Ada Page Daniel; son, Johnny Roy Ellis; sisters, Shirley Daniel Faulk and Barbara Daniel Gwynn; and brothers, Kenneth Daniel and James Daniel.

Survivors include: his daughter-in-law, Tasha Bass Ellis; his grandchildren, Tiffany Ellis and Jonathan Ellis; and his brother, David Daniel.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
