CARRIERE — Pearl River Central split a pair of games with visiting Forrest County AHS Monday night.
Pearl River Central’s Lady Devils hooked up in an exciting match-up with the visitors.
Unfortunately the home team came up one point short in triple overtime.
The Lady Aggies recorded a heart-stopping 62-61 win, as all five PRC starters fouled out but the Lady Devils battled hard to the end.
Pearl River Central head coach Kevin Harris, whose team dropped to 2-3 with the loss, agreed that the loss of his starting five due to foul troubles hurt his teams chances in the three extra sessions.
Natasha Holloway and Megan Calcote each tallied 13 to pace a balanced Lady Devil attack, while Caroline Lumpkin added 12 and Sarah Kerry chipped in 10 and Kecia Lewis scored nine.
In the boy’s game, PRC captured an 80-65 win as Dennan Seal scored a game high 26 points and Jordan Fairconetue added 24.
The win gave second year Blue Devil head coach Austin Alexander a win over his alma mater.
The Blue Devils are 2-3.
Both PRC teams play in the county turnament on Thursday ay Hancock..
