City clerk: Accounting software update needed

City Clerk Donnie Holloway is looking forward to new accounting software after more than 20 years of using a program developed by a city employee.
He said the past several annual audits have criticized the antiquated accounting software.
He said the software he’s interested in, called INCODE, will let him and department heads enter account information rather than sending up paperwork to his department to be copied into the software.
He’s going to Ridgeland in the coming week to see the program in use there.
It is by Tyler Technologies Inc. of Dallas. Holloway estimates it will cost $45,000 to $60,000, and expects it to be installed some time next year.
