DAV van at Wal-Mart to answer vets’ questions

A Disabled American Veterans van, complete with an expert National Service Officer on board, is at the Picayune Wal-Mart Supercenter on today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to answer any questions about veterans’ benefits and to help with claims.
“If you want straight answers about rights and benefits you earned through your services to your country, as well as free, professional assistance with claims from a highly trained expert, then you need to visit this van and talk to the DAV National Service Officer who will be aboard the van,” said Arthur H. Wilson, National Adjutant.
He added, “A fully-equipped DAV NSO on wheels will make the stop at Wal-Mart on Oct. 1 to help you with your benefits at no cost to you.”
“A DAV NSO — rigorously and professionally schooled in the full range of benefits for military veterans and retirees — will provide you the best counseling and claim filing assistance you can get from any source, anywhere. Like you, this NSO is a veteran,” said Wilson.
“Because the DAV is a nonprofit organization dedicated solely to serving you, our NSO has only one goal: Making sure you get all the benefits and services you earned. Considering veterans part of the Harley-Davidson family, the company’s Foundation shares this goal,” said Wilson.
“Let me repeat, the help offered under the Harley’s Heroes Tour is completely free, just like all DAV services to veterans and their families. DAV membership is not required,” he continued.
Wilson added, “When you come to the DAV Mobile Service Office location at Wal-Mart, bring your claim number, Social Security number and any other pertinent documentation. The DAV builds better lives for all of our nation’s disabled veterans and their families. We look forward to see you and serving you at Wal-Mart on Oct. 1.”
Wilson said any veteran seeking addition information about what DAV provides free of charge, they should call Gary Gray, DAV supervisor, at 601-364-7178.
