Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ for Joseph D. “By” Jackson, 73, of Picayune, who passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.

Elder David Simmons will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee, Ga., he was retired, and a former member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Pearl Jackson; and one son, Joseph L. Jackson.

Survivors include: a loving and devoted wife, Mary L. Jackson; one son, Dennis Jackson of Picayune; four daughters, Cynthia and her husband Gerald Miller of Dallas, Texas; and Margiel Jackson, Kymetria Jackson, and Heidi Roberts, all of Picayune.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. at the Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ.

Brown’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
