Memorial services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Picayune for LaVerne E. Horsley, 62, of Carriere who passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 in Carriere.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jim Biedenharn will officiate at the service.

A native of Michigan, he was a Marine and a retired Oceanographer for the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office. LaVerne was a member of First United Methodist Church of Picayune. He was a loving husband, father, and brother who will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, William Clarence Horsley and Alta Long Horsley; and his brother, LaMonte Horsley.

Survivors include: his wife, Lindaanne Stanley-Horsley of Carriere; his children, Karen Horsley and Matthew Horsley; and his sister, Carol Clark.

Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2011 from 12 p.m. until service time at First United Methodist Church of Picayune.
