Carl Nevis Berry, Sr., 78, of Leetown passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Biloxi VA Medical Center.

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Picayune Funeral Home until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 noon, with Bro. Orean Spence and Bro. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lee’s Chapel #2 Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

Carl was born in New Hebron, Miss., and moved to the area from Jackson, Miss., thirty-five years ago. He worked in construction and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Lee’s Chapel #2 Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by: his father, E.V. Berry; one son, Carl N. Berry, Jr.; and one sister, Lucy Berry Martin.

He is survived by: his mother, Ina Mae Buckley Berry of Belzoni, Miss.; wife, Janice Faye Lee Berry of Leetown; two daughters, Tangie Smith of Leetown and Gloria Necaise of Leetown; grandson, Chance Berry of Leetown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
