McGilton makes Dean’s List

Louisiana Tech University winter quarter President’s and Dean’s Honor lists.

Louisiana Tech University has announced the names of students on its winter quarter President’s and Dean’s honor lists.

Students whose names are followed by an asterisk earned recognition as members of the President’s Honor List. That distinction signifies achievement of at least a 3.8 academic grade point average on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher), with no grade lower than a B.

To be eligible for the Dean’s Honor Lists, a student is required to earn at least a 3.5 academic grade point average with no grade lower than a C on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher).

Courses yielding satisfactory/failure grades and courses audited do not count toward eligibility for either recognition. Only undergraduates with no incomplete grades are eligible to make either list.

Benefit held for cancer fighter, Licciardi child

A garage sale located at 1912 Daniels St. is scheduled for March 23 and 24 from 8 AM to 4 PM to benefit Christian Licciardi, cancer fighter. All proceeds will go to help pay his medical expenses. For more information, call 601-590-0501.

Donations needed

Donations are needed for the Kerne family of Poplarville who lost their home in a March 10 fire near here that seriously injured Errol Kerne, Sr.

Originally from Chalmette, La., Errol and Bonny Kerne moved to the Poplarville area after losing their Chalmette home during hurricane Katrina. Here they made a new start with their two adopted children, Errol Jr., 7, and Joshua, 1-1/2.

Because of the loss of Bonny’s job after hurricane Katrina the family has been unable to afford health insurance. Errol was self-employed prior to the fire but is currently in serious condition at the Burn Center in Birmingham. Ala., from burns received in the home fire.

Friends say with no income and no health insurance, any and all donations are desperately needed to cover living expenses and the expected high medical costs.
