The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded more than $25.4 million to continue case management work by organizations of the Katrina Aid Today consortium.

The consortium provides assistance to thousands of families across the Gulf Coast.

FEMA said in a statement that the United Methodist Committee on Relief formed the national case management consortium following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 to provide disaster case management services to individuals and families.

KAT was funded through more than $66 million in donations from foreign countries and nonprofit organizations.
