Ballet Magnificat!’s Alpha Company of Jackson has been invited to represent the United States at an international competition in Colombia.

The company will leave Jackson on August 28 for the IV Festival Internacional de Ballet “Puerta de oro de Colombia.” It will return September 5.

The Alpha Company is one of two touring companies of Ballet Magnificat!, a Jackson-based Christian ballet company founded by Kathy Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux is also the company’s artistic director at Ballet Magnificat! and a dancer in the Alpha Company.

Both Alpha and Omega companies of Ballet Magnificat! tour internationally at least once a year.
