Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Lee’s Chapel #1 Baptist Church for Billy Ray Simmons, 58, of McNeill who passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Picayune.

Burial will be in the Lee’s Chapel #1 Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.

The Rev. Donnie Boutwell will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, he was a construction worker and a member of the Lee’s Chapel #1 Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Simmons, Sr.

Survivors include: his wife, Marguerite Simmons of McNeill; his mother, Katie McCormick Simmons of McNeill; his children, Troy Wayne Simmons, Kathryne Danielle Bond and Deborah Kay Simmons all of McNeill, Allen Gerard Harris, Jr. of Carriere, Mark William Harris and Crystal Marie Harris both of McNeill; brothers and sisters, Charles Edward Simmons, Jr., James H. (Buddy) Simmons, Patricia Carter, and Robert Wayne Simmons all of McNeill; eight grandchildren, Matthew Wayne Simmons, Lauryn Nicole Bond, Christina Michelle Harris, Ali Marie Harris, Christopher Alexander Thigpen, Layla Isabelle Harris, Lashae Lee Harris and Allen Kenneth Harris.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.

McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune is in charge of the arrangements.
