Two Houston residents have received jail time after pleading guilty in federal court to four counts of fraud involving Hurricane Katrina assistance.
Roger Williams was sentenced Tuesday to four months in prison and Annette L. Williams was sentenced to 24 months in prison. It’s unknown if they’re married or related.
Both were indicted on 12 counts of fraud in Hancock County.
They were charged with submitting applications to FEMA and the Mississippi Development Authority, seeking Hurricane Katrina disaster assistance. Investigators say the address listed on the applications wasn’t their primary residence.
Roger and Annette Williams owned property in Bay St. Louis; however, the property was used as rental property and was rented at the time application was made for Katrina-related assistance.
