FAST TRACK – Picayune teams nab seven first place honors

Picayune’s girls and boys track teams proved to be the hosts with the most Friday.
In a nine team meet, both Picayune thinclad squads took seven first places in the meet.
Lady Tide standout Hannah Nunez put on a show for the home fans, as she won four first place ribbons by capturing the high jump, the 100 and 200 meter dashes and ran a leg on the winning 4X100 meter relay.
Also taking first place finishes for the Lady Tide was “T” Myers in the 100 meter low hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles, and Desherra Jackson won the triple jump and was also a leg on the 4X100 team. She was also second in the long jump, while Danielle Camp was second in the 800 meter run.
Picayune’s Jonathan Moore won both the 110 and 300-meter hurdles, recording season best times in both races. Jeremiah Peters also had a good meet, as he won the 200 meter dash, ran legs on both the winning 4×100 and 4×200 meter relay teams and was second in the long jump. Justin Quinn won the 100 meter dash and ran a leg on the 4×100 meter relay team.
Also, Hancock’s Eve Savage won both the 800 and 1,600 meter runs, while Poplarville’s Harry won the shot put and Hancock’s Westbrook won the 3,200 and 1,600 meter runs.
