The state auditor’s office has turned over to prosecutors the results of its investigation to allegations of embezzlement at the Jones County chancery clerk’s office.

District Attorney Tony Buckley says the information will be presented to the next session of the local grand jury in December.

Buckley says the audit focused on a four-year period. He would not identify a possible suspect since no arrests have been made. He says the employee allegedly involved no longer works for the chancery clerk.
