The search continues for a West Tennessee man who disappeared while swimming in northeastern Mississippi.

Authorities said 52-year-old Bruce Hornaday of Germantown was swimming from a pontoon boat in Pickwick Lake around 12:30 p.m. Saturday when the incident occurred.

The Commercial Appeal quoted Master Sgt. Ricky Cornelison of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks as saying authorities aren’t certain exactly where Hornaday disappeared.

Cornelison said the water depth could vary from 18 feet to 55 feet.

Tennessee Valley Authority police were aiding state authorities in the search on Tuesday.

Pickwick Lake is a section of the Tennessee River.
