Sylvia Minor, the wife of imprisoned former attorney Paul Minor, has died of brain cancer.
The death was confirmed by Paul Minor’s attorney, Hiram Eastland Jr. Eastland says Sylvia Minor died Monday in Baton Rouge, La.
Paul Minor was sent to prison in 2007 for bribing two judges. He had been married to Sylvia for 41 years.
He was granted a few hours to spend with his wife in February.
Last week, an appeals court denied his request for bond pending appeal. That request noted that Sylvia Minor’s death was “imminent.”
