A Lumberton woman has pleaded no contest to charges she abused a vulnerable adult in her care
Attorney General Jim Hood said Wednesday that 41-year-old entered the plea to one charge of misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable adult before Lamar County Justice Court Judge Bill Anderson.
A plea means she neither admits nor denies committing the crime, but agrees to a punishment as if guilty.
Anderson fined Parker $500 fine, put her on probation for six months and ordered her to complete anger management classes.
Parker was employed by Timberlake ICF/MR group home as a direct care worker.
Hood said the victim was a 30-year-old mentally challenged resident of the facility.
