Jerry St. Pe has been appointed to a second term on the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
Governor Haley Barbour made the appointment. State Senate confirmation is required.
St. Pe, a businessman and a retired president of Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, was appointed to the three-member commission in 2004 to complete the four-year term of Leonard Blackwell II of Gulfport.
That initial appointment was to expire Tuesday.
The new appointment means St. Pe, now the commission’s chairman, will remain on the board through September 30, 2012.
The commission oversees casinos and bingo operations in Mississippi.
