Southern Miss’ game at Boise State next fall has been moved so that it can be broadcast on ESPN.
The game will now be played on Sept. 27, a Thursday night.
“This gives our football program another opportunity to showcase itself to the nation on ESPN,” athletic director Richard Giannini said in a statement. “The Boise State game is a marquee matchup that attracts a lot of national attention.”
The Golden Eagles now have four of their 12 games scheduled on nontraditional days to take advantage of TV interest.
The other three games are Wednesday, Oct. 3, against Rice in Hattiesburg, Sunday, Oct. 21, at Marshall, and Sunday, Oct. 28, against Central Florida in Hattiesburg.
