A Moss Point man has been charged with capital murder in the slaying of a Biloxi resident earlier this month.

Moss Point police Detective Jeff Smith said Monday that 22-year-old Demetris James McNutt has been charged in 26-year-old Brent Jackson’s shooting death. Jackson was killed during a robbery attempt.

Smith was being held Tuesday in the Moss Point jail pending an initial court appearance.

Smith would not release many details about the alleged robbery attempt. He said Jackson’s wallet and car were missing when his body was found April 13 near some abandoned duplexes.
