Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for James R. Boone, 66, of Picayune, who passed away Friday, April 11 in Slidell, La.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.

The Rev. Timothy Mims will officiate at the service and will be assisted by the Rev. Budd Putnam.

A native of Picayune he was a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church. He was a teacher and coach at Pearl River Central High School in Carriere, and at Pearl River High School, Pearl River, La.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Boone.

Survivors include: his wife, Diane Boone of Picayune; two sons, Jeffrey Scott Boone of Picayune; and Steven Cody Boone of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Breanna, Justin, and Joshua; his sister, Peggy Smith of Orlando, Fla., and nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune.
