Inmate dies from stroke

An inmate being held at the Pearl River County jail died Monday of a massive stroke.
According to a press release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department the man was Timothy Young, 36, of 845 Herrin Dr. of Picayune.
The release states that corrections officers began CPR and continued until emergency personnel from Emergystat Ambulance Service and volunteer fire departments arrived to assist.
Young was pronounced dead at the scene, the release states.
An autopsy performed Tuesday night showed the cause of death to be a massive stroke due to a blood clot in the brain.
Young was picked up March 2, for the armed robberies of Logan’s One Stop and the Picayune Movie Gallery.
