Lt. Gary Wilton of the Picayune Police Department is the focus of this week’s Get to Know.

 

How long have you been in law enforcement?

“I have been in law enforcement since 1987. I started with the Kenner Police Department and came to Picayune in 2003.”

 

Why did you choose law enforcement?

“The choice of law enforcement came really naturally to me. As the older brother to four sisters, I always looked out for them and protected them. The point of law enforcement is to protect and serve but on a bigger scale.”

 

Do you have children?

“Yes, I have two adult children and two grandchildren. I also have a golden lab and a chocolate lab.”

 

What are your hobbies?

“I love to play music and be on the creek. I play guitar, drums and piano. I love to fish and be out on my boat.”
