Picayune Police Arrest Suspect in Woodglen Cove Shooting

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Nov. 27 in the area of Woodglen Cove, according to the Picayune Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire, where a man, described as wearing a black hoodie and red pants, fired multiple shots at individuals in the area before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division identified Davien Magee as a suspect. Magee, who was serving probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections and required to wear an ankle monitoring device, was placed at the scene of the shooting using data from the device.

Magee was located early Wednesday morning and taken into custody. Police stated that he was wearing clothing matching the witness descriptions. During the arrest, officers discovered Magee in possession of controlled substances.

Magee was booked into the Pearl River County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and felony possession of controlled substances.
