On Oct. 17, 2024, detectives with the Picayune Police Department Special Operations Division, in cooperation with federal and state agencies and the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office, conducted proactive patrols within the Picayune city limits and surrounding areas.

Several traffic stops made by the Special Operations Division resulted in the seizure of marijuana, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. The following individuals were arrested:

• Jeremy Broussard: Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (fentanyl), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and petit larceny.
• Jerome McDonald: Arrested on an active warrant and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (marijuana).
• Michael Janet: Charged with tampering with physical evidence (fentanyl).
• Jessica Marks: Charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
