Roseland Park Elementary Students Organize Screening of Regenerative Agriculture Film

Gifted students from Roseland Park Elementary are organizing a community event to promote awareness of regenerative agriculture. The newly-formed “Ground Up!” club has scheduled a screening of the film Kiss the Ground at Crosby Commons on Sept. 26.

The film, which highlights the role of soil health in addressing climate change, inspired the students to petition the City Council for permission to hold the event.

“This isn’t just about watching a movie,” said gifted teacher Summer Jacobsen. “It’s about showing our local heroes – the farmers – that we appreciate everything they do for our community and the planet.”

The evening will include live music and food trucks starting at 5:00 p.m., with the film screening set for 7:00 p.m. Local farmers who reserve tickets in advance will receive complimentary limousine transportation to the event.

Community members are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and an appetite for both food and inspiration. To reserve tickets, email Summer Jacobsen at sjacobsen@pcu.k12.ms.us.
