Investigators work armed robbery

An unknown suspect robbed a Dollar General in Pearl River County at gunpoint Thursday night and the Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to locate the individual.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call in reference to an armed robbery at the Dollar General located at 2568 Highway 43 South, said Major Marc Ogden.
Deputies arrived and spoke with store employees, who said that a black man entered the store with a handgun before demanding cash from the cashier. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money, Ogden said.
He was described as approximately 5’9, with a small build and appeared to be in his 20s. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and sunglasses. Witnesses told deputies that he fled the scene in a light colored small four-door car.
