The Poplarville School Board of Trustees heard good news about the progress of their students during Monday’s meeting.
“We are trying to get as much green and as little red as possible,” said Heidi Dillon, principal of the Middle School of Poplarville.
She said the District is moving students to where they should be in their achievements.
“We are growing and that is what we need to do,” Dillon said.
She said students are moving from being two or more years behind to just a year behind.
Using a program Dillon called Stretch to Growth, “We’re getting them to where they need to be.”
Board members also approved scheduling of a budget hearing for Monday, June 24 at 5 p.m.
The Board also approved routine changes to the Flexible Benfit Plan for staff members and gave its approval for District involvement plans.
