Funeral Services for Billy Joe Martin, age 52, of Picayune, MS will be held at 12:00 p.m. on
Friday, February 1, 2019 at Resurrection Life Worship Center in Picayune, MS. Billy left his
earthly life for his eternal home on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Rev. Allen Hickman will officiate
the celebration of life service. Visitation will be held before the service from 10 a.m. until 12:00
p.m.
A native of Gulfport, MS, Billy graduated from Gulfport High School and attended Gulf Coast
Community College. He faithfully served as Administrator of Resurrection Life Worship Center
for the past ten years
.
Billy’s love of music and the saxophone were used to glorify his Lord and Savior by being a part
of the Worship Team at Resurrection Life Worship Center. He filled many roles in life as a
mentor, caregiver, advisor, and friend to all. As a true servant of God, he served others in a
loving, generous, and gracious way. Billy’s legacy of obedience to God and selfless service to
others will live on in the lives he touched.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend of 17 years, Jameye Hickman Martin of
Picayune; his mother, Shirley Martin; his siblings, Randy (Karen) Martin and Terri (Tony)
Zbysinski, of the Mississippi Gulf Coast; his brothers-in-law, Rev. Allen (Amy) Hickman of
Picayune and Andrew (Karen) Hickman of Brookhaven; 17 nephews and nieces and 9 great-
nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Martin of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Billy’s memory be made to Manna
Ministries, 120 Street A, Suite A Picayune, MS 39466.
