The remains found at the home of Kathleen Bowman and Charles Eugene Bowman have been identified as those of 61-year-old Kathleen Bowman.

Pearl River County Deputy Coroner Albert Lee said the remains were identified by a forensic anthropologist and forensic odontologist. Lee said dental records were also used to identify the remains. A cause of death has not been determined, Lee said.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the findings have led to additional warrants being issued for 61- year-old Charles Eugene Bowman for first degree murder and tampering with physical evidence, both of which are felonies.

The case began with a call from concerned family members that Kathleen Bowman had not been heard from since Mother’s Day. When deputies conducted a welfare check at the couple’s home, located at 68 Owl Hoot Rd., in the Barth community, Charles Bowman was home, but Kathleen could not be found, previous coverage states.

Additional information provided by a Gulf Coast law enforcement agency led to a search warrant being served at the Bowman home, where human remains were found, according to previous coverage. Charles Bowman was not at home at the time of the search. He is still at large, Ogden said.

Charles Bowman is also wanted for warrants for felony aggravated domestic assault and providing false information to a law enforcement officer, previous coverage states.
