Inez Linece Hinton

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to service time at First Cornerstone Baptist Church, Bishop Vernon Robinson is Pastor.  Internment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery. The Rev. Otis Jones will be the officiant.

Inez Linece Hinton was born Jan. 12, 1966 in Picayune, Miss. to the late Otis and Cora Hinton. 

Inez graduated from Picayune Memorial High, where she was a successful basketball and track athlete. She also attended Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, La., on a four-year basketball scholarship.

Inez was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Louis Thomas. 

Inez worked several jobs as a self-employed domestic and construction worker. She loved her fur babies (cats) and enjoyed riding her bicycle around town. Her favorite song was “Every Praise Is To Our God.”

Inez departed her earthly life on Feb. 8, 2025 at Highland Community Hospital, Picayune, Miss. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Cora Hinton; sister, Arline Hinton, and brothers, James Hinton and Andre Hinton.

Inez leaves to cherish her precious memory, daughter, Lachandra Hinton (Otha Jones); a very special friend, Donald Wayne Ruffin; sisters, Willie Mae Bender, Ruth Hinton and Cora Keisha Hinton; brothers, Otis Ray Hinton Sr., Ronald Hinton (Lynn), Gerald Hinton (Orelle) and Corrie Hinton, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
