Alvin F. Carter gained his wings on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 at Weems Chapel United Methodist Church, 810 E. Third Street, Picayune, MS 39466.  

Visitation for family and friends to view and pay your respect to Alvin will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Weems Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1973 in Hattiesburg, Miss. to Alvin Carter and the late Mary P. Carter. He was a 1992 graduate of Petal High School. After high school, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi. 

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his four children, Nala Carter of Atlanta, Ga., Cameron Carter, Aliciana Carter and Noah Carter of Picayune, Miss.; one grandson, Adohnys Reed of Picayune, Miss.; father, Alvin N. Carter of Picayune, Miss., two siblings, Christopher (Ramonda) Carter and Deidra (LaMar) Thompson, both of Picayune, Miss.; nine aunts, Rose Griffin of Chicago, Ill., Jessie (Hicks) Hicks of Los Angeles, Calif., Laura Williams, Mary Florence Bouchee, and Louise Jordan, all of Petal, Miss., and Lanita Thomas of Picayune, Miss., and six uncles, Lloyd Jones of Bay Springs, Miss., Ray (Belinda) Porter, Robert (Margo) Porter, Charles (Gretchen) Porter and Ronald Porter all of Picayune, Miss., and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. 

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Porter-Carter, material grandparents; Eddie (Katherine) Porter, and paternal grandparents, Jessie (Genetta) Carter.
