The Picayune Police Department held its annual National Night Out on Tuesday at Crosby Commons, gathering local agencies, vendors, and residents for an evening of food, games, and community interaction.

National Night Out is a national initiative to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the community. Typically held on the first Tuesday in August, the Picayune event was moved to October due to heat concerns.

Police Chief Joe Quave commented on the event’s turnout: “Very excited to see people come out and fill this park. We’ve partnered with businesses and community organizations to offer food and games free to the public. It’s a chance to have conversations under different circumstances than official interactions. It’s about making these relationships.”
