Picayune PD Holds First Meeting at New Headquarters, Recognizes Outstanding Officers

The Picayune Police Department held its quarterly meeting today, marking the first assembly in the new police headquarters. Several officers received letters of recognition for their outstanding service, highlighting their dedication to the community.

The recognized officers include Captain Lawrence Hopkins, Sgt. Kristy Boyd, Cpl. Shayne Cunningham, Cpl. Garrett Duplechain, Officer Robert Gere, Officer Justin Miller, Officer Kelvin James (not pictured), Det. Mike Hickey, Det. Jake Petree, Det. Hunter Callahan and Det. Jesse Neumann. These officers were commended for making numerous felony arrests related to drug possession and distribution and commercial burglaries.

Cpl. Malik Lucas was awarded Officer of the Quarter for his positive attitude and willingness to serve in any capacity necessary.

Officers who achieved perfect handgun scores were given additional recognition, earning them entry into the “100 Club.” These officers include Cpl. Shayne Cunningham, Det. Sgt. Daniel Quave, Cpl. Garrett Duplechain, Det. Sean Talley, and Officer Justin Deshotel.

Captain James Drewery received recognition for issuing the most citations, while Cpl. Shayne Cunningham was recognized for making the most arrests. Both officers have maintained their top standings in these categories for consecutive quarters.
