Man Apprehended by Police K-9 Trea Following Traffic Stop

At approximately 11 p.m. on June 25, officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray Kia Optima in the parking lot of a business on Hwy 11 North. The stop resulted in the apprehension of a man with outstanding felony warrants after he fled on foot.
The front seat passenger, Roland Daniel Kennedy, fled immediately upon the vehicle being stopped. Officers, recognizing Kennedy and aware of his outstanding felony warrants, deployed K-9 Trea. The K-9 apprehended Kennedy.
Kennedy was treated at Highland Community Hospital for injuries sustained during his apprehension. He was then transported to the county jail, where he was booked and incarcerated. Kennedy faces charges of Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and outstanding warrants for Transfer of a Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
The vehicle’s driver, Elmire Davis, left the scene during the incident. Authorities are in the process of issuing warrants for her arrest on charges of Careless Driving, Resisting Arrest, and Hindering Prosecution.
