A tragic motor vehicle accident on October 7, 2023, at the intersection of Hwy 43 South and Jeff Wheat Road has resulted in the arrest of Karen Marie Davis for Aggravated DUI Causing Death.

Officers from the Picayune Police Department responded to the accident scene, where it was determined that a motorcycle operated by Allen Harris had collided with a vehicle entering the roadway. Harris was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Subsequent investigation led officers to obtain a blood draw from the other driver, Karen Marie Davis, at Highland Community Hospital. Samples from Davis were sent for analysis at the Mississippi Crime Laboratory. The study revealed impairing amounts of substances in Davis’s system at the time of the crash.

On May 2, 2024, Karen Marie Davis was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with Aggravated DUI Causing Death.
