William Mitchell “W.M.” Stewart, Jr., age 89, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at his residence with his family.

“W.M.” was an Army veteran, a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church, and taught school in Pearl River, Louisiana and at Pearl River Central School in Carriere, Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Stewart of Carriere; one son, William M. Stewart, III (Betty) of Vonore, Tennessee; three daughters: Margaret Gale Hill of Carriere, Brenda Strong, of Carriere and Aleta Spiers of Southhaven, Mississippi; one sister, Nell Reeves of Farmers Branch, Texas; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his father and mother, William M. and Vera Odell Stewart; brothers, Wilson, Robert, and Jay Stewart; sisters, Josephine Collins and Maylene Spruill; one daughter, Teresa Lynne Stewart; and three grandchildren, Kristi, Brent, and Jordan.

Due to the COVID-19 regulations, a private family visitation and Graveside Service was held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Thursday May 21, 2020.
