Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at New Palestine Cemetery. Apostle Dr. Johnnie Ball of Christian Embassy Fellowship will officiate at the services.

On Monday, March 23, 2020 Mrs. Ollie Jean Darden, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 78.

Ollie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Lee Darden; her three brothers, Leroy Gordon Sr., Charles Lee Gowdy and Booker Lloyd; and her grandson, Brandon Gowdy.

She will be forever remembered by her precious seven children, Samuel Gowdy of San Bernardino, CA, Linda Gowdy of Picayune, MS, John (Rebecca) Darden of Slidell, LA, Sophia Darden, Gary Darden, Julius Darden and Jaqueline Darden all of Picayune, MS. Jean will also be missed by her sister, Dorothy May Little of Meridian, MS.

Ollie Jean will also be forever remembered by her three grandchildren, K’Hari (CraigJenkins, Sr.) Gowdy, Lori N. Gowdy and Tonya Jemison; ten great-grandchildren, Sierra Jemison, Brianna Jemison, La’Terrian Gowdy, Terrence Davis, Jr., Brian Davis, II., Kiara Gowdy, Jeremiah Gowdy, Craig E. Jenkins JR., Ke’Juan Hayes, Lola Gowdy, and one great-great grandson, Dakota Jemison Little; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
