Funeral Services for Gale Edgar DeVore, age 94, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Monday, January 6, 2020, will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 1:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home, West Canal Street, Picayune, MS. Services to be officiated by Rev. Dan Young of Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2020, prior to services from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of  Mound City , IL. Gale was most proud of being a World War II veteran. He was a maintenance welder for Kaiser Aluminum for over 25 years, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Baptist faith. Gale was a loving and devoted husband of 55 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dameetra Upshaw DeVore; his 6 sons, Robert “Bobby” E (Beth Ann) DeVore, Damon R. DeVore, Dennis D. (Melissa) DeVore, Chad A. (Kristen) DeVore, Dudley A. (Tab) DeVore, and Timothy (Glenda) DeVore; 14 grandchildren, James (Kassidi) DeVore, Austin DeVore, Logan DeVore, Chasity (Chris) Boatman, Adrian DeVore, Tiffany (Colton) Lee, Will DeVore, Kelsey DeVore, Braxton DeVore, Baylee DeVore, Leslie DeVore, Melanie DeVore,  Stephanie DeVore, and Daniel DeVore; 2 great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Catherine Boatman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Robert DeVore and Mae Rose DeVore; his sisters, Muriel D. Phillips and Dorothy McReynolds; and his brother, Arthur DeVore.
