From Mississippi Highway Patrol

On December 7, 2019 at 11:35 am the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle wreck on MS43 at the intersection of Nellie Burks Rd that claimed the life of a Louisiana man. Upon arrival on scene, the investigating Trooper reported that it appeared a motorcycle was traveling south on MS43 and was passing another vehicle, then collided with a 2001 Toyota 4Runner that was also traveling south, making a left hand turn onto Nellie Burks Road. The rider of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, the motorcycle rider was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The identity of the motorcycle rider will be released at a later date, when the next of kin is notified. The collision is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
