Students who are part of the Pearl River County Christian Home Educators Association held a reading fair at the Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library Monday afternoon.
Organizer Amanda Seals said the fair was for home schooled children in grades kindergarten through sixth. Fourteen students entered their projects, dressing in garb indicative of their story’s protagonist.
At the end of the fair, which was judged by two library staff and a volunteer with Friends of the Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library, first through third place winners were awarded ribbons and a gift card to a chain book store.
Seals said the fair was held in an effort to encourage the children to be excited about reading.
