Hartwood “Harty” Sampey

A Celebration of Life for Hartwood “Harty” Sampey, age 68, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 5:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a retired Tug Boat Captain and a member of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hartwood S. Sampey, Sr; his wife Karen Rodgers Sampey; his son, Jodi Joe Sampey; his daughter, Melodie Sampey Clemmons; his grandson, Trey LeCompte, III; his sister, Debbie Sampey Savoie; and his brother, Michael Sampey.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Hilda Hotard Sampey; his daughter, Dodi Jo Sampey Robinson; his son, Zachery Carver; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Clemmons, Maegan Clemmons, Harley Ray Robinson, II, Jodi Sampey, II, Jaynah Sampey, Jaden Sampey, Kayla LeCompte, and Haylee LeCompte; numerous great grandchildren; and his sister, Mollie (Ursella) Roux.
