Lining the streets for this year’s 35th annual Blueberry Jubilee will be a variety of food choices for attendees to enjoy.
Blueberry Jubilee food vendor chair Kristy Dale said several unique meal and treat options will be available at the Jubilee this year, including ice cream, funnel cake and alligator and crawfish subs. Dale said that while all food vendors will be located along South Julia Street they will be located at one of three lots during the event. Some vendors will be near Poplarville Public Library, others will be set up by the County Courthouse and the majority will be serving food near the Mississippi Power Company office.
Although Dale is looking forward to sampling food from the new vendors at this years’ Jubilee, she said the vendors who come back year after year are what make the event so special.
“The old vendors – the people and their personality is what makes it,” Dale said.
This year’s Jubilee will feature a total of 20 food vendors who will be selling a variety of things such as lemonade, frozen chocolate-covered cheesecake, bananas-on-a-stick and smoked ribs, cheese fries, fried Oreos, chicken-on-a-stick, burger baskets, chicken tender baskets, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, polish sausage, foot-long corndogs, fried green tomatoes, fried pork skins, hot-boiled peanuts, hog fries, pulled pork nachos and pulled pork brisket sandwiches. There will also be traditional Cajun dishes like crawgator Philly subs, alligator and crawfish swamp rolls and jambalaya.
