The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department’s search for a local teenager has come to an end.
Pearl River County Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said Dalton Jaymes Jordan, 16, turned himself in to authorities in Kissimmee, Florida, Wednesday morning.
According to previous coverage, Jordan was wanted for his part in allegedly stealing two handguns, an AK-47, cash and two pairs of shoes from a friend’s grandparent’s house in Carriere. Later on, he posted a picture of himself with those items on his Snapchat account.
In November of last year, Jordan was convicted of two commercial burglaries where he was sentenced to a seven-year post-release probation sentence with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Ogden said.
Now, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department is attempting to determine the location of Payton Colon, 19, of 220A Dozier St. in Picayune, due to evidence that Colon allegedly helped Jordan hide, which prevented his arrest.
Ogden said there is now a warrant out for Colon’s arrest for hindering prosecution. If convicted, the offense carries a maximum of 15-years in jail.
Jordan will be extradited on six warrants that include grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, three counts of possession of a weapon after a felony conviction and causing or directing a juvenile to commit a felony crime.
If anyone has information about the location of Colon, they are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (601) 795-2241 or send a message to the Sheriff’s Department via the department’s Facebook page.
