Funeral Services for Lacy Bernett Padgett, age 87, of Carriere, Mississippi, who passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Dan Young will officiate the service.

A native of Magee, Mississippi, he was a retired Meteorologist. Bernett was a member and deacon of Roseland Park Baptist Church, and went on mission trips to Peru and Poland. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Barney E. Padgett and Mary Ludie Gill Padgett.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Betty Louise Hendricks Padgett; his daughters, Eileen (Tim) Cooke and Margaret (Paul) Sorensen; his son, John Edward Padgett; four grandchildren, Rachel (Bob) Harris, Allison (Wesley) Chisum, Tiffany (Reese) Gill, and Stephanie Sorensen; five great grandchildren, Joshua Harris, Jax Harris, Tucker Chisum, Wyatt Chisum, and Emma Grace Gill; his sisters, Marjorie Anne McGhee and Dr. Mary Jean Padgett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
